Sonata Hybrid of 2015 from Hyundai is shown off in Seoul
Hyundai has shown the Sonata Hybrid of 2015 in Seoul, South Korea.
The vehicle is equipped with a 2.0-litre V4 powertrain which can produce 156 hp (or 115 kW) and torque of 139 lb-ft (189 Nm). This application presupposes an electric motor capable of generating another 52 hp (or 38 kW) and torque of 151 lb-ft (or 205 Nm). In comparison with the previous variant, the innovated Sonata Hybrid is really more efficient. Fuel consumption was lessened by 0.5 litres / 100 km to only 5.5 litres / 100 km (51.3 mpg UK or 42.7 mpg US).
The vehicle benefits from an innovated automatic transmission of six speeds and has a smaller torsion damper, an electric pump for oil and an innovated powertrain clutch. At the same time the converter of the torque has been removed. Besides, the lithium-ion battery now has increased its capacity by 13.3% to 1.62 kWh. Now it has been placed under the trunk which has enhanced cargo capacity by 10.5% to 380 litres.
The automaker has made the vehicle much more efficient in aerodynamics. A low-drag back diffuser, full undercover of the body, streamlined 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels were added to the modernization.
