BMW confirms 1-Series Sedan will be launched Only for China
Shawn Ticehurst, the chief of product and market planning BMW Australia, has reconfirmed a 1-Series Sedan.
The 1-Series Sedan was snapped for the first time last September. Now a representative of the company has reminded their plans to launch a sedan variant of the recently facelifted entry-level model. Though, it will not be widely available. The car will be oriented on China, but there is a possibility that we’ll see it in future in other countries too. Ticehurst was asked to confirm that 1-Series Sedan will not be launched in Australia by Motoring. His answer was “never say never”.
According to the reports, the model will have the identical UKL platform as the 2-Series Active Tourer or Gran Tourer MPV duo. This means that it will receive a front-wheel drive layout. The 1-Series Sedan will be equipped with an array of frugal turbocharged V3 and V4 petrol and diesel engines. As to select variants, they will get an xDrive 4-wheel drive system.
