Audi Green Lit the BMW X6 Fighter
The company gives green light to the BMW X6.
Audi is going to create a coupe-styled crossover which will be based on the forthcoming Q7 for seven persons. The new model will be called Q8 and it will become a competitor to the famous X6 from BMW and the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE. The Q7 is going to become one of the company’s last offerings which are based on the regular styling, though, the Q8 will present a new design which is now in preview with the concept of Prologue shown off at the Auto Show in Los Angeles.
Ulrich Hackenburg, the company’s technical director, states in AutoCar that the program has been green lit and it is going to start developing with approximate arrival in three years.
As to the AutoCar, the base variant will be equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged gasoline six-cylinder engine along with an RS variant with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo eight-cylinder powertrain. Diesel and plug-in hybrid offerings will also be available. They will be offered with a softly planned electric variant which could take on the Tesla Model X.
