Fresh flagship revealed: the upcoming Avatr 9-Series SUV

The Avatr brand has published the first official images of its new flagship crossover from the so-called "9 Series". The new model is positioned as a direct competitor to large premium models such as the Aito M9 and Li Auto L9. Sales of the vehicle in the domestic market are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The crossover was created in close partnership with IT giant Huawei, and its cabin is designed for six seats. The flagship's exterior differs noticeably from the brand's existing model lineup: the vehicle received a more angular, monumental silhouette, a two-tone paint scheme, and chrome trim. Experts and reviewers note design elements echoing the styling of Zeekr models (the grille pattern resembles the 8X and 9X), Li Auto, and the Yangwang lineup from BYD.

Among the notable exterior and technological solutions are a roof-mounted lidar (presumably the 896-line Huawei Qiankun system), semi-flush door handles, and a massive panoramic roof. Detailed technical specifications of the powertrain have not yet been disclosed; however, it is known that battery technology will be provided by CATL. In turn, Huawei will be responsible for supplying on-board control systems, lighting, advanced driving assistants, and the voice assistant.

The Avatr brand is part of the Changan concern and specializes in high-tech electric vehicles and hybrids. The brand's current lineup includes the 11 and 12 electric models, as well as the recently announced 07 hybrid crossover. In addition, the Avatr 11 crossover was recently updated, receiving gloss black exterior accents and an interior fragrancing system with three cartridges. Exact specifications and pricing options for the new flagship will be published closer to the start of sales.
