The first generation of the Avatr 9 debuted in 2026 as the technological flagship of the Avatr lineup. Developed on an advanced platform engineered through the collaboration of Changan, Huawei, and CATL, the vehicle enters the full-size premium SUV segment with a dedicated three-row, six-passenger cabin configuration. Visually, the model introduces a more upright, structured design language featuring a two-tone exterior finish, a large panoramic glass roof, semi-flush door handles, and a distinctive front fascia with a closed grille pattern.
Technologically, the Avatr 9 stands out with a roof-mounted 896-line LiDAR unit powered by Huawei Qiankun, delivering high-resolution spatial mapping for next-generation driver assistance systems. Propulsion options rely on CATL battery technology across fully electric and range-extending hybrid setups, departing from the styling conventions of earlier Avatr crossovers to maximize interior volume, computational capability, and long-distance passenger comfort.
