Electric Moke Mk2 Debuts in Paris With 23.5-kWh Battery and 106-Mile Range

Moke International has unveiled the second generation of its open-air electric beach car, the Electric Moke Mk2, making its public debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, where it remains on display through October 18. The British-built runabout retains its distinctive stripped-down silhouette while introducing significant mechanical improvements, including a substantially larger traction battery, a relocated charging connector, and a dedicated front luggage compartment.

The most notable update is a 23.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack, replacing the previous model's 10.8-kWh unit. This nearly doubles the official WLTP driving range to 106 miles, compared to 54 miles previously. According to Moke International, real-world coastal and urban driving can extend this figure up to approximately 115 miles. The powertrain remains otherwise unchanged, carrying over the rear-mounted 44-horsepower electric motor. Top speed stays electronically limited to 50 mph, aligning with the vehicle's role as a low-speed resort transport.

Charging capabilities have also been modernized. An onboard 6.6-kW AC charger can take the battery from 20 to 80 percent in approximately two hours, while a standard 3.2-kW domestic outlet in the United Kingdom or United States requires about seven hours for a full charge. Moving the charging port to the rear tidies the exterior styling and redistributes chassis weight to enhance handling dynamics. CEO Lorne Vary stated that time spent in a Moke is focused on enjoying the moment and the freedom to explore.

Practicality is enhanced by an 86-liter (3 cubic feet) lockable front trunk, providing dedicated storage for bags and beach equipment. Inside, the updated center console gains a rotary gear selector, clearer warning lights, USB-C ports, a 12-volt socket, rear cup holders, and wider footwells. The European palette now features the California Collection (Sonoma Red, Laguna Blue, Venice White) alongside the Original Collection and Earth Naturals tones.

Starting at €35,000 before taxes (approximately $39,000), the Mk2 is sold across Europe and the Americas through ten retail partners, following more than 500 electric models sold globally since 2022.
