2026 BMW Z4 Final Edition: The Iconic Two-Seater Roadster Bids Farewell
The BMW Z4 first debuted in 2002, and after more than two decades, the 2026 Final Edition signals the conclusion of this beloved two-seat roadster’s production run.
As the era of the Z4 draws to a close, BMW has chosen to honor the model with a limited Final Edition. This move coincides with the discontinuation of its mechanically related counterpart, the Toyota Supra, making the farewell unsurprising.
For this special release, BMW keeps the design straightforward yet striking. The Final Edition is based on the Z4 M40i, featuring a Frozen Black exterior complemented by the Shadowline Package, which adds blacked-out accents to the kidney grille, side mirrors, and lower air intakes. The soft top also comes in black, while bright red brake calipers provide a bold contrast. The car rides on staggered wheels, with 19-inch rims and 255-width tires up front, and 20-inch wheels with 285-width tires at the rear.
Inside the cabin, unique Z4 Final Edition badges adorn the door sills, and red stitching highlights the interior. Comfort is enhanced by the inclusion of the Harman Kardon audio system and the Premium Package, while safety is bolstered by BMW’s Driving Assistance Package.
Under the hood, the Z4 Final Edition is powered by BMW’s well-known turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, delivering 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
Buyers can choose between an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, both priced from a starting MSRP of $78,675. Opting for the manual version unlocks the Edition Handschalter Package, which includes chassis upgrades such as specialized auxiliary springs, a reinforced front anti-roll bar clamp, and re-tuned variable sport steering and rear damper electronics for enhanced handling.
BMW has not disclosed the exact production volume for the Final Edition Z4 but confirmed the limited run will take place between February and April 2026, emphasizing the rarity of this final chapter.
