The All-New 2026 Genesis GV70: Beauty and Utility Combined

Prettier and More Useful: The 2026 Genesis GV70

It feels like only yesterday, but it has actually been nearly a decade since Hyundai introduced its luxury brand, Genesis. Now, the 2026 Genesis GV70 crossover is receiving a mid-cycle refresh. While not completely revolutionary, the updated GV70 offers enhanced aesthetics and usability, staying true to the essence of a refresh.

A Popular Model with Powertrain Options

The Genesis GV70 is the brand's best-selling model in North America. The 2026 version will be available in gas and electric variants. The combustion models retain the same powertrain options, featuring a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower and a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 with 375 horsepower. As for the electric GV70, it will be equipped with an upgraded 84-kWh battery pack, promising improved range compared to its predecessor.

Styling and Convenience Upgrades

The refreshed 2026 GV70 boasts updates in both styling and interior convenience. Inside the vehicle, you'll find a new 27-inch OLED screen that seamlessly extends from the driver-instrument cluster to the infotainment display, providing a continuous flow of information and entertainment. Additionally, there are redesigned 19- and 21-inch wheel options to choose from.

On the outside, the combustion-powered GV70 flaunts a larger and more angular grille, along with boomerang-shaped cut-outs beneath the headlights. A unique exterior color called Ceres Blue adds to the overall aesthetics. As for the electric GV70, it features body-color mesh on the front, reminiscent of 2000s iMac computers, and offers an optional white interior.

Improved Charging and Enhanced Comfort

The electric GV70 is equipped with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, compatible with Tesla Superchargers, and also includes a Combined Charging System (CCS) adapter for charging at non-Tesla stations. Charging convenience is further enhanced with features such as an electric motor-assisted charging port, heating capabilities for cold weather, and improved lighting for dark environments.

Genesis has also introduced notable features to enhance the driving experience of the 2026 GV70. The Highway Body Motion Control system ensures a smoother ride by optimizing the suspension during acceleration and deceleration. Furthermore, both gas and electric versions of the GV70 now come with a digital key for smartphone-based car management and a "Terrain Mode" for adapting to different road conditions.

Subtle Yet Significant Upgrades

Although the changes to the 2026 GV70 may not be drastic, they are certainly noticeable and provide added convenience. For a car in its fifth model year, the upgrades demonstrate Genesis' commitment to continuously improving their vehicles.
