Hyundai also begins to develop a flying taxi
Hyundai is creating a new unit that will deal with the creation of urban air transport.
The unit's vice-presidents will be Shin Zevon, who has worked for NASA for about 30 years. The specialist was in charge of the direction with a total budget of $725 million. Zevon participated in the project of creating a silent supersonic aircraft X-plane, an electric plane, uncrewed aerial vehicle.
The new Hyundai division will develop essential technologies that will help the company become a leader in the urban air transport market. Over the next 20 years, the volume will amount to 1.5 trillion US dollars.
Now the development of aircraft in the flying taxi category is taking place at Audi with Airbus, Daimler with Volocopter and Geely with Terrafugia.
