Trademark Filing For RS Q8 From Audi

Audi has shown a new sign of steering up a high-performance variant of the big SUV.

The automaker’s SUV portfolio is getting larger. Having presented the Q2 at the bottom of the chain, the Ingolstadt-based brand is developing the new Q8 range topper. The unit should be out in 2018. Audi has shown a hint about an RS variant because it boasted the Q8 Sport concept. Here is another hint: a trademark filing for “RS Q8” was registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office. Now it is being studied.

The producer’s boss has stated that more SUVs will receive the RS badge in the following years. The chief also admitted that there is a growing demand for speed SUVs and the automaker is going to take advantage of the trend. According to the market studies, customers are more interested in an RS SUV more than in a beefier R8 supercar.
