New York, Expect BMW iPerformance Plug-In Hybrid Models!
The four PHEVs confirm that BMW pushes into developing electrified powerplants.
The German producer wants to use the International Auto Show held in NY to push its iPerformance sub-brand for plug-in hybrid offerings.
The youngest member of the iPerformance family in America is the 2018 530e. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 unit and electric engine with a total output of 248 hp and torque of 310 pound-feet. The 530e will cost $51,400 in America. You will have to pay $53,700 for the company’s xDrive 4-wheel drive.
The 740e xDrive and X5 xDrive40e iPerformance offerings will be presented in NY as well. These ones are equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 and electric motor. The output stands at 322 hp and torque of 332 lb-ft in the X5.
