A Hawaii-inspired Name For Hyundais Compact Crossover

Kona is the new name of Hyundai’s 1st B-segment SUV.

The model received its name from the coastal region in Hawaii. The producer states that it is a “renowned destination for thrill-seeking travel-lovers”. The company also says that Kona is a reflection of the adventurous spirit. The offering will come out this year in summer. It is a compact crossover created with a focus on driving dynamics improving. The producer from Korea wants to reach new performance standards in this segment. Kona should deliver best-in-its-class interior space and innovative styling features giving a hint on the company’s next-gen of SUV offerings.

The model under consideration should be based on the i30. It is in the similar class with the CX-3 from Mazda. Even though the producer has released only this teaser snap, the model’s headlamps have a rather different look than the other automaker’s cars.

Paparazzi have already snapped the Kona during testing, however, there is not much information about the offering. The FWD should be regular as well as optional AWD should be available/

Spy photographers have already caught the Hyundai Kona testing on public roads, but not much is known about the model. Expect front-wheel drive to be standard however, although optional all-wheel drive should be available.
