10 More HP For Updated Golf R From VW

When VW revealed the upgraded Golf in the beginning of November and there was one omission: The Golf R.  Finally, the details about the new European R have been revealed with 9.8 hp more.

The Golf R will feature about 305 hp and 295 lb-ft. So, it will be the most powerful Golf in the range. It will be able to sprint to 60 mph in only 4.6 seconds. The Golf R Variant (wagon) receives the same power and torque amount. However, this model will probably not make it to North America.

The boost in power reminds of the roughly 10 hp boost that the Golf GGTI received with this latest upgrade. Just like the GTI and the other members of the Golf family, the newest R receives several mild visual upgrades. The bumper and headlamps are somewhat different, but in the whole, it looks similar to the ongoing Golf R.

Similar changes should be applied to the rest of the Golf range inside, such as innovated larger infotainment screens, VW’s digital cockpit and gesture control.
