Prototype of 2018 BMW 3 Series

The BMW 3 Series will be rivalling with the restyled Audi A4 and Mercedes C Class. However, the producer started developing the next-gen offering.

The next 3 Series should be expected in 2018. A sportier styling, harder edges and sharper creases are to come. The vehicle is in its early stages of development. Therefore, many changes may appear in two years. BMW might add additional equipment and materials of higher quality. The offering may boast better rugs and improved seals reducing noise inside the cabin.

The information is scarce at the moment. We know that the next-gen model will receive a new platform. It will be from aluminium, high-strength steel and carbon fibber. These aspects will make the vehicle a bit lighter.

Motor options have not been confirmed yet. Expect a variety of V4 and V6 diesel and petrol units. There also can be a few eco-friendly versions along with a plug-in hybrid and a fuel-cell powerplant.
