A new DTM safety car from BMW: the M4 GTS

The limited edition M4 GTS from BMW will race soon. The producer has revealed that the offering will be the official safety car of this year’s DTM season.

Virtually the car has the same outlook as the road-going offering. The safety car received track specific accessories. There are lots of “DTM Safety Car” stickers, a light bar from LED and LED flashers among them. The vehicle has been equipped with a front splitter, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, 19- / 20-inch alloys featuring Acid Orange accents, a rear wing.

The offering can be obtained with a fire extinguisher and an Acid Orange roll bar. There also was a radio added. The latest feature enables the safety car driver to communicate with the officials of the race.

Just like the regular model, the new car receives power from a 3.0-litre Twin-Power Turbo V6 motor. It is described by water injection technology. In such a way, the vehicle is able to generate 500 hp and torque of 442 pound-feet. The engine is joined with a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission. The new M4 GTS can sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds. Its top speed is 189 mph.
