430,000 New Vehicles with Wrong CO2 Ratings from VW

VW has announced about almost 430,000 cars from the next model year with “implausible” CO2 ratings.

The German producer presented a full list of all affected models. Most of them are being marketed in America. All of the vehicles under consideration are equipped with TSI or TFSI petrol or diesel mills with engine displacements of 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 or 2.0L. These vehicles do not fall under the 800,000 cars with already estimated incorrect emission ratings.

The list spreads on the Skoda Fabia, Fabia Combi, Audi A1, A1 Sportback and Seat Ibiza 5 Türer. There also are the Jetta, Passat, Passat Variant, Scirocco, Polo, Golf, Golf Cabriolet, Golf Variant, CC, T6, Tiguan, Touran, Caddy and Golf Sportsvan from VW.

Lots of affected cars ride with diesel motors. According to previous reports, some of the issued models are equipped with regular gasoline engines.

The automaker assures that conversation with the proper authorities has already started. Next the brand will decide the new CO2 numbers for the issued offerings under the supervision of the German Federal Vehicle and Transport Authority. Expect an update of VW’s database online next week. There will be new VIN figures of the issued 2016 model year cars. This will be done specially for the customers, so they could see if their property is affected.
