2016 Nissan Altima is going to get a Significant Refresh

Nissan has prepared significant changes for the 2016 Altima.

All the details are not available yet, but the planners of the vehicle have stated that the refresh is “significant”. The mid-size sedans have proved to be one of the most important vehicles on the US market. It is not a surprise that the company wants to be confident that the model is ready to compete with the best products of this segment.

The vice president of product planning at Nissan North America said to Automotive News that Camry has done something huge because they considered the vehicle was not where the company wanted it to be. He shared that he is not sure if they are ready to go to that extent. Though, he admitted that the automaker is going to do something big for the Altima for the midcycle.

Technology improvements and design changes are prepared for the Altima. Some of them will probably be used for boosting economy of the fuel. The vice president of product planning told that the fuel economy is very good. He revealed that the Altima is a light car and is rated at 38 mpg. Loing promised to reinforce this when they do the midcycle.

The Altima is positioned behind the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord in sales. Nissan moved 335,644 Altimas last year in comparison with Camry’s 428,606 sales and Accord’s 388,374 units.
