US Leakage of Discovery Sport from Land Rover

First images of next year’s Discovery Sport model appeared not in the official source but due to diligent work of American spies.

Times of Freelander are ticking out as more bulky new Discovery Sport SUV comes to the fore to support Land Rover’s line-up. Although the disguise was thorough during the American test drive, those who are familiar with the previous segment products of the British company will understand that the car looks somewhat like Sport and Evoque models.

Concept called Discovery Vision which was presented in 2014 featured some of the options available in the production version vehicle. Thus, spoiler of the prototype is placed on tailgate, the roof is slanting and two exhaust pipes are present. In spite of the fact that the carmaker promotes the next product as all-new, in the best traditions of modern car marketing this definition implies only little alternations.

Meanwhile, extended platform is going to be an innovation to the new compact SUV. Discovery Sport made for model year 2015 will use this detail as it is presented in Evoque. Powerplant, however, seems to be the only unique offering: the vehicle is to feature V4 petrol and diesel motors securing more effective fuel consumption.

Production of Land Rover’s new SUV will start not earlier than 2015. The debut is to be expected around next spring.
