Electric Range Rover GT Grand Tourer Surfaces Ahead of Debut

The Range Rover GT will be the brand’s first non-SUV model, using a lower-slung fastback body. It will launch as a fully electric model, with a full-hybrid powertrain expected to follow later. Despite its sleeker shape, Land Rover says the GT will still offer all-wheel drive, off-road capability, and long-distance comfort.

After making the Range Rover electric, with the Sport expected to follow by the end of 2026, Land Rover is focusing on what will be its most important new model of the year, and perhaps beyond. That is because the Range Rover GT will be the British brand’s first model not to adopt an SUV stance. At a time when nearly everything with four wheels is trying to sit higher off the ground, Gaydon is going against the trend. Official photos of the vehicle have already been seen under camouflage, and fresh prototype images have emerged on social media.

A closer look reveals a front end that follows the British brand’s familiar design language, complete with slim, horizontally oriented headlights. The nose is completely closed off, as there is no need to cool an internal-combustion engine; the space under the hood houses high-voltage cabling and control systems for the electric powertrain. The model will join the lineup alongside the flagship Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar, and Evoque, becoming the first vehicle from the brand to launch without any combustion-engine options, though a full hybrid is expected to join the range down the road.

Land Rover officially describes the car as a fully electric grand tourer designed to combine uncompromised off-road capability with long-distance comfort. The vehicle features a fastback profile with a gently sloping rear window that flows into a subtle tail fitted with ultra-slim taillights. Inside, the cabin follows a minimalist philosophy, further reducing visual clutter while retaining signature brand luxury. The dashboard is centered around a slender digital instrument panel and a moderately sized central touchscreen display.
