Twingo EV to Enrich Renault's Line-Up

One of the Renault’s executives has officially announced the development of a new electric vehicle called Twingo.

The news was broken to an automotive periodical where in an interview CPO confessed that Renault plans to deliver the novelty some time later. Stoll explained the situation as unstable because of the uncertainty of the market arguing that still the majority of drivers do not see themselves routinely using an EV.

Such a position is understandable for Renault-Nissan alliance sales figures of which hardly passed 19,000-unit line in EVs in 2013. It considerably mars the two-year forecast.

The situation is even vaguer considering that earlier the European press received a negative answer regarding assembly of Twingo EV.
