Eight Cylinders in a Spacious Engine Suggested for Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Muscle growth is speculated for next-gen Genesis coupe from Hyundai.
An Australian periodical posted an article with a rumour that a coupe modification of the Genesis will sport an eight-cylinder motor with the displacement of 5.0 litres delivering 420 hp. At least, the same offering is found in the sedan of the same line-up. Gearbox would be automatic in this case, feature 8 speeds and work on 2WD basis.
Niche occupied by Genesis Coupe of such characteristics will be higher than turbo variants with engines of four and six cylinders. The relevant concept appeared at a South Korean event in 2013.
Such concept’s elements as shapes of the rear bumper and roof are probably to be retained, however, intricate butterfly doors proved to be not a very good idea.
