Brake Calipers Apocalypse Brought on Hyundai Sonata

Next year’s Sonata falls the victim of the defect for the second time since its launch.

More than 5,500 items are going to return to maintenance rooms to be dealt with fragile brake calipers. Hyundai refuses to plead guilty for the flaw and promises a complimentary repair.

The first steps regarding the recall were made more than a month ago. At first the owners were to refrain from driving, and then in the course of investigation it became known that the flaw was of temporary manufacturing kind.

Fatigue tests were unknowingly failed by the brake calipers which did not lift the detail back after deployment. In the aftermath maintenance confirmed the fracture.

The first recall connected with 2015 Sonata concerned the wiring issues in the steering assistance department making the affected vehicles stick in “park” position with unresponsive shift lever.
