BMW is not Greedy for Its Batteries

Electric batteries have never been too cheap, but BMW seems to have found a way of dealing with it.

Turning for green auto power seems to be more demanding financially than the carmakers would wish, with batteries firmly keeping the expensive record. Cunning BMW promised fellow-countryman Mercedes-Benz to give a share of its producing experience if the latter is willing to sign the contract with Samsung SDI provider. It has been announced by the purchasing executive of the German brand.

Such a sharing would be beneficial in terms of production cost economy for fresh hybrid models of the company. Partly, such a situation has become possible due to initial generousness of the pioneering Tesla which decided to abolish its patents to the advantage of mutual EV evolvement.

The American carmaker cooperates with Panasonic and plans major extensions to production, which in the long-run will allow them to include a wider focus group.

Meanwhile, there are going to appear more i3 than planned due to fairly favourable sell figures of more than 5,000 items moved during six months of 2014. Thus, by September 40% more i3 are going to leave the assembly lines.
