Nissan Leaf Joins CPO Program

Nissan is adding its all-electric Leaf to the ranks of certified pre-owned (CPO) car program.

Nowadays, new Leaf clients are reassured with an 8-year/100,000 mile battery warranty that covers defects and 5-year/60,000 mile coverage for battery capacity loss. Now that the Leaf is part of the CPO program, Nissan will also provide EV system and powertrain warranty coverage for 7 years or 100,000 miles.

“As more Nissan LEAF cars enter the used car market, we know it’s vital for Nissan to offer the second owners the same confidence in the car that the original owner enjoyed,” informed Erik Gottfried, chief of EV deliveries and marketing for Nissan. “Adding Leaf to the CPO program is a natural next step to strengthen the position of LEAF as the world’s Number 1 all-electric vehicle for the global market.”

To be approved for the CPO program, the Leaf must have less than 60,000 miles on the odometer, be less than 5-years from its original in-service date, have a clear carfax report and pass a 167-point inspection. Moreover, the car must have at least 9 out of 12 of its battery capacity bars intact.

Other benefits of the CPO program feature 24-hour roadside assistance, a free 3-month subscription to Sirius-XM satellite radio, trip interruption coverage and vehicle rental reimbursement.
