2015 Volkswagen GTI Detailed in Photos

Volkswagen released a new set of photos today detailing the 2015 Golf GTI, which will arrive in North America sometime in late 2013.

The new GTI gets its power from a 2.0-liter direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. For the first time, an optional performance package is available for the car, which bumps the output up to 230 hp.

In comparison to the standard Golf, the GTI receives a more aggressive body kit, lower sport-tuned suspension, a spoiler, smoked taillights, red brake calipers, a dual exhaust, special accents and 17-inch alloy wheels, all of which are prominently shown off in the gallery below.

Fuel economy is also improved on the VW GTI, rated at a combined 39.2 mpg on the Euro test cycle when equipped with a manual.
