2014 Nissan Versa Sedan Keeps Price, Gains Equipment

Nissan won’t raise the $12,780 price tag (including delivery) on its Versa sedan for 2014, but it will add new standard equipment.

The Japanese brand announced today that it will now give the base Versa S gets a tachometer and low rolling-resistance tires. Sorry, bargain hunters, but it still comes with crank windows.

Ratchet that up to the Versa SV and you’ll get a standard 60/40 split-folding rear seat, a key fob trunk release and more comfortable seats for a $16,030 price tag. Jump up to the Versa SL for $17,680 for 16-inch alloy aluminum alloy wheels, a 4.3-inch audio display, satellite radio capability and a “tri-cot” headliner.

The price announcement means that, at least for now, the Versa sedan will retain its title as the cheapest car in the U.S. It can come with either a five-speed manual transmission for the base car, a four-seed automatic for an extra $1,000, of with a continuously-variable transmission in the “S Plus” trim levels and above.
