2014 Hyundai Sonata Provides Additional Safety, Tech Upgrades

Hyundai has provided its Sonata significant enhancements for the 2014 model year, creating features to assist its sedan present new levels of elegance, safety and technology.

A long list of enhancements feature a refined front grille style, catchy 17- and 18-inch wheels, HID Xenon headlights, LED taillights and a all-new rear bumper insert. Plenty of features are also nowadays standard on all trim models featuring: Driver Selectable Steering System, Car Stability Management, TPMS and a sport-tuned exhaust option. Other refinements on the 2014 Sonata feature enhanced carpet for a quieter interior, additional foam in the A and B pillars and an additional dynamic damper for lowered road noise.

Talking about the interior, a full-leather steering wheel is now available on the SE and Limited vehicles while the navigation option gets refreshed with an 8-inch screen. The driver seat also comes ventilated as regular on the Limited model while a carbon fiber trim is now standard on the SE version.

The 2014 Sonata is enhanced by a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine with 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. It receives an EPA-rated 24-mpg city, 35-mpg highway rating. Also offered is a 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder motor with 274 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. That vehicle receives 21 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.

The 2014 Hyundai Sonata receives a minor price increase of $155 for the 2014 model year, despite all the enhancements the Korean company has given it. The 2014 Sonata GLA kicks off at $22,145 featuring delivery.
