2014 BMW X5 Revealed with 3 Motor Versions

The 3rd-gen BMW X5 was officially unveiled with top spaciousness, 3 motor versions, and even more customization options.

The 2014 X5 receives a refreshed style with a more mighty front-end look that further upgrades the Sports Activity Car’s aerodynamics. Its total style language is further underlined with Air Curtains, Air Breathers, and Aero Blades for the rear window. The twin-circular headlights now broaden into the German brand’s signature kidney grilles while further customization can be had via its Design Pure Experience, Design Pure Excellence, and M Sport sets.

The brand-new X5 will go on sale with 3 motor versions launching with the X5 xDrive50i which includes a next-gen, 4.4-liter V8 motor with 450 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque thanks to a couple of turbochargers. The lower-end model will include a 3.0-liter, turbocharged 6-cylinder powerplant with 258 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque and will be presented as the X5 xDrive30d. Those searching for a balance between power and fuel efficiency can choose for the X5 M50d which includes a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder diesel motor with 3 turbos. The M50d generates 381 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque. All 3 powerplants are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Enhancing the interior, BMW has raised the spaciousness of the X5′s cabin as well as adding more elegance with heightened seating position, a low-set instrument panel with horizontal lines extending into the door trim, upgraded interior visibility, and trunk space. The automatic tailgate operation is now regular and can be opened and closed by remote control and from the driver’s place. Rear comfort seats and additional 3-row seating are optional.
