2014 Audi A3 Sedan Premier for Shanghai Motor Show Debut

Despite Audi will give US a poor preview of the brand-new A3 sedan at the 2013 New York Auto Show, the German auto brand confirmed that the car will officially debut at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show in China.

The Audi A3 is coming to America in both sedan and five-door hatch models (previously informed only the sedan would be available for US) and will be equipped with gasoline and diesel powerplants. A new 1.8-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder will add the popular 2.0-liter TFSI engine, while the diesel option will be the 2.0-liter TDI currently equipped in the A3.

The compact sedan vehicle will be surely good competitor to the new Mercedes-Benz CLA, though the CLA 45AMG, (which will also debut at the New York Auto Show in few weeks) will offer more performance. To match that Audi may yet be planning a variant of its A3 sedan model with a 408 hp of the same turbocharged 5-cylinder engine equipped in the TT-RS.
