Volvo V90 I (960) gallery (1996–1998)

First generation of the Volvo V90 luxury estate, representing the renamed Volvo 960 Estate produced from 1996 to 1998.

In late 1996, Volvo updated model designations, rebadging the 960 Estate as the Volvo V90. Built on Volvo's classic rear-wheel-drive 900-series platform with a multi-link rear suspension and composite leaf spring, it was produced as a 5-door wagon renowned for massive cargo space and structural durability.

Power was supplied by 2.5-liter (170 hp) and 2.9-liter (180-204 hp) Modular inline-six petrol engines. Production concluded in 1998, marking the end of Volvo's traditional rear-wheel-drive full-size estates.
