Volkswagen Tayron I (BS) gallery (2018–2024)

The first-generation Volkswagen Tayron mid-size SUV with body code BS was introduced in late 2018, manufactured specifically for the Chinese market by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. Built on the modular MQB architecture, the Tayron bridged the gap between the Tiguan and the flagship Touareg. It featured a bold front grille design, sculpted shoulder lines, and a high-tech interior equipped with digital displays. A coupe-SUV derivative named the Tayron X was added to the lineup in 2020.

Powertrain choices for the original Tayron included 1.4-liter TSI (later upgraded to 1.5 TSI) and 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged four-cylinder engines generating up to 220 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid model badged Tayron GTE was also offered. All engines were paired with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission, with higher trims featuring 4Motion all-wheel drive.
