The sixth-generation Polo transitioned to the MQB-A0 architecture, growing significantly in dimensions and adding the Digital Cockpit.

The Volkswagen Polo VI (AW/BZ) debuted in Berlin in June 2017. Built on the MQB-A0 modular chassis, its length grew past 4.05 meters and the wheelbase expanded by 94 mm, resulting in cabin space rivaling older Golf models. The exterior showcased athletic body creases and sharp LED light graphics. Mid-lifecycle facelift in 2021 (Mk6.5) added an illuminated front light bar.

Tech features encompassed the customizable Digital Cockpit, Front Assist emergency braking, and Blind Spot Detection. Powertrains feature 1.0-liter MPI/TSI three-cylinders, 1.5 TSI four-cylinders, 2.0 TSI on the Polo GTI (up to 207 hp), and 1.6 TDI diesels alongside CNG-powered 1.0 TGI variants.
