Debuting in May 2000, the second-generation RAV4 (XA20) expanded in size and introduced sophisticated exterior lines with improved cabin safety engineering. Offered in three-door and five-door crossover body styles, it featured modular interior seating that could be slid, folded, or completely removed to maximize cargo storage flexibility.
