Second generation Toyota Fortuner body-on-frame SUV exhibiting refined premium styling, efficient GD turbodiesel engines, and enhanced cabin acoustics.
The second generation Toyota Fortuner made its global debut in July 2015, launched concurrently in Thailand and Australia. Constructed on an upgraded high-strength ladder-frame chassis, the AN150 generation achieved significantly improved structural rigidity and impact resistance. The exterior adopted a sophisticated design language featuring slim LED projector headlights, a distinctive floating C-pillar roof design, and refined chrome trim accents. The upgraded interior accommodated up to seven passengers with leather upholstery, an integrated 7- or 8-inch infotainment display, automatic climate control, and a power liftgate.
Powertrain technology transitioned to Toyota's new Global Diesel (GD) common-rail engine family, comprising the 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV (150 hp) and the 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV (177 hp, upgraded to 204 hp in 2020), alongside a 2.7-liter 2TR-FE gasoline option. Power is routed through six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions. Four-wheel-drive models feature a dial-actuated Part-Time 4WD system with a low-range transfer case and an electronic rear differential lock. A major 2020 facelift introduced the flagship Legender trim boasting unique front fascia styling and advanced Toyota Safety Sense features.
