Subaru Pleo III (Pleo Plus I) gallery (2012–2017)

Produced from December 2012 to 2017, the first-generation Subaru Pleo Plus (LA300/LA310 series) was an OEM rebadge of the ultra-efficient Daihatsu Mira e:S eco-car. Engineered for maximum fuel economy (down to 3.3 L/100 km), it featured a lightweight chassis, automatic stop-start technology, and optimized CVT gearing. The MacPherson strut front suspension setup paired with the refined rear suspension layout struck an optimal balance between highway composure and smooth absorption of road surface imperfections. The engineering setup effectively combined the low center of gravity inherent to the horizontally-opposed engine layout with a rigid chassis frame, delivering precise handling and composure across dry pavement and slippery surfaces alike. Engine bay packaging ensured optimal front-to-rear axle weight distribution alongside efficient thermal cooling under sustained driving loads.

Power came from a 658 cc KF-VE3 3-cylinder engine (49–52 hp) in FWD or 4WD. A 2014 update refreshed front lighting and introduced Smart Assist collision-avoidance technology. Production ended in 2017. Inside, the cabin showcased durable trim materials, clear instrument cluster graphics, and intuitive control ergonomics that earned praise from automotive reviewers globally. Designers placed a strong emphasis on cabin ergonomics, occupant visibility, and long-distance driving comfort.
