Rolls-Royce Silver Shawdow II photos

Introduced in early 1977, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II brought comprehensive mechanical and ergonomic improvements to the platform. The most notable engineering change was the implementation of rack-and-pinion steering alongside extensive front suspension geometry recalibrations, dramatically improving handling agility and high-speed road holding. Aesthetically, the vehicle adopted impact-absorbing black rubber-faced alloy bumpers to satisfy stricter US federal crash requirements, an integrated front air dam, and subtle grille tweaks. Inside, the Silver Shadow II was fitted with a sophisticated bi-level automatic climate control system derived from the flagship Camargue coupe, along with a revised instrument fascia. The engine remained the proven 6.75-liter aluminum V8 mated to a GM 3-speed automatic gearbox. The long-wheelbase counterpart was officially branded as the Silver Wraith II, distinguished by its Everflex-covered roof and smaller rear window aperture. The Silver Shadow II was sold across international luxury markets until 1980, when it was succeeded by the Silver Spirit.
