The tenth-generation Lancer Evolution X (CZ4A platform code) debuted in October 2007 on the global GS platform. Featuring a Jet Fighter front fascia, it utilized aluminum front fenders, hood, and roof panels. Engineering of the Lancer Evolution X (CZ4A) (factory code CZ4A) emphasized high structural rigidity, aerodynamic efficiency, and optimized interior spatial packaging. Built with reinforced body structures utilizing high-tensile steel alloys, the platform delivered reduced curb weight alongside improved occupant crash protection. The vehicle was distributed globally in multiple configuration packages designed to satisfy diverse market demands and regional regulatory specifications.

Powered by an all-aluminum 2.0-liter 4B11T turbocharged engine (295-305 hp) paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed Twin Clutch SST dual-clutch transmission. Integrated S-AWC controlled ACD, AYC, and stability systems. Production ended in 2016 with the Final Edition. The powertrain lineup incorporated efficient engine families paired with robust manual, automatic, or continuously variable transmissions depending on trim selection. Drivetrain engineering integrated advanced suspension tuning and traction management systems. Periodic mid-cycle cosmetic and technical updates refreshed front-end aesthetics, lighting technology, and cabin infotainment features, maintaining competitive positioning across international consumer segments throughout its production lifespan.
