About this generation

Compact high-roof hatchback built jointly with Ford.

The first Mazda 2 (previously known in Europe as the 121) was based on the Ford Fiesta platform. The car combined the dimensions of a city hatchback with a high roof, offering excellent capacity and minivan-like seating.
