Lexus LX II (J100) gallery (1998–2007)

The second-generation Lexus LX full-size luxury SUV (chassis code J100) launched in early 1998 as the LX 470. Constructed on the Land Cruiser 100 series chassis, it transitioned to an independent front suspension to greatly enhance on-road steering and comfort. Standard technical equipment highlighted Adaptive Height Control (AHC) hydraulic suspension and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). The cabin offered three rows of seating, real wood trim, Mark Levinson audio, and Night View infrared technology.

Power originated from a 4.7-liter 2UZ-FE V8 engine producing 230 horsepower, which increased to 275 horsepower in 2005 with VVT-i addition. Transmission choices evolved from a four-speed to a five-speed automatic in 2002. Full-time four-wheel drive included a locking center differential. Facelifts in 2002 and 2005 refreshed the front grille, introduced LED taillights, and updated interior infotainment displays.
