About this generation

The fourth generation of the Kia Optima with Sportswagon wagon body style, autonomous braking, and PHEV plug-in hybrid options. The model combines proven engineering reliability, refined.

The fourth-generation Kia Optima (JF) premiered in April 2015 at the New York Auto Show. Built on the Y7 platform, its body rigidity jumped by 150% due to 51% advanced high-strength steel. For the first time, Europe received a stylish wagon variant named the Optima Sportswagon alongside the 4-door sedan. Overall length reached 4,855 mm with a 2,805 mm wheelbase, surrounding a driver-centric interior with available 360-degree cameras. This generation of the Optima (JF) was produced from 2015 to 2020 and offered in седан, универсал body styles. Built on an engineered platform, it features strong structural rigidity, refined aerodynamics, and advanced occupant safety engineering.

Engine options spanned 2.0L MPI (150 hp), 2.4L GDI (188 hp), 1.6L T-GDI (178 hp), 2.0L T-GDI (245 hp for GT trims), and a 1.7L CRDi turbo-diesel (141 hp, later replaced by a 1.6L diesel). A Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) version offered zero-emission electric range. A 2018 facelift refined the Tiger Nose grille, restyled the bumpers, and upgraded ambient cabin lighting. The powertrain lineup features modern engines optimized for thermal efficiency, balancing responsive acceleration with economical fuel consumption. Power is delivered through reliable manual or automatic transmissions.
