About this generation

The first generation of the flagship rear-wheel-drive Kia K900 (K9) sedan featuring V6 and 5.0 V8 Tau engines and air suspension. The model combines proven engineering reliability, refined.

The first-generation Kia K900 luxury flagship sedan (KH; sold as K9 in Korea and Quoris in select markets) launched in 2012. Built on Hyundai's rear-wheel-drive Equus/Genesis BH platform with longitudinal engine placement and multi-link suspension, it measured 5,090 mm in length with a 3,045 mm wheelbase. High-tech features included adaptive full-LED headlights with 16 individual diodes and a head-up display. This generation of the K900 (KH) was produced from 2012 to 2018 and offered in sedan body styles. Built on an engineered platform, it features strong structural rigidity, refined aerodynamics, and advanced occupant safety engineering.

Engine options comprised 3.8-liter V6 MPI/GDI (290-334 hp), 3.3-liter V6 (300 hp), and a range-topping 5.0-liter Tau V8 engine producing 426 hp. All engines were mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Available luxury options included electronically controlled air suspension, a 17-speaker Lexicon sound system, and power-reclining rear executive seats. The powertrain lineup features modern engines optimized for thermal efficiency, balancing responsive acceleration with economical fuel consumption. Power is delivered through reliable manual or automatic transmissions. Mid-cycle updates introduced modernized LED lighting graphics, premium cabin materials, and enhanced active driver assistance suites.
