The first-generation Kia Cerato (LD) launched in 2003 as the replacement for the Sephia/Shuma line. Developed on the Hyundai Elantra (XD) platform featuring all-wheel independent suspension, it was offered as a 4-door sedan (4,480 mm long) and a 5-door hatchback (4,340 mm long) sharing a 2,610 mm wheelbase.
