The third generation Isuzu KB, built on the TF platform, was released in 1988 and enjoyed an extended production run worldwide.

The third generation Isuzu KB, developed on the TF platform architecture, was introduced in 1988. It featured a modernized aerodynamic exterior, enhanced cabin ergonomics, and refined suspension setups for better ride quality. While gasoline engines remained available in select regions, the lineup was dominated by robust diesel powerplants, most notably the legendary 4JB1-T turbocharged diesel engine known for its bulletproof reliability. Rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive variants were offered with manual and automatic transmissions across single, extended, and double cab body styles. This generation served as a foundational workhorse in markets like South Africa, where it was proudly retailed under the Isuzu KB badge until the early 2000s.
