The second generation Isuzu KB was launched in 1980, bringing substantial improvements in versatility, design, and interior comfort. This generation expanded the lineup by introducing extended and double-cab configurations alongside the traditional single cab, broadening its appeal to private buyers and commercial fleets alike. Engine options were significantly upgraded to include refined gasoline units and highly durable diesel engines, including turbocharged variants prized for their longevity under arduous conditions. Power was sent to the rear wheels or all four wheels via manual transmissions. The truck was marketed extensively across international markets such as South Africa, Europe, and Asia, cementing the Isuzu KB nomenclature. Production of this highly successful generation ran through 1988, paving the way for the subsequent TF series.
