The body-on-frame Hyundai Terracan (HP chassis) was produced from 2001 to 2007 as the direct successor to the Hyundai Galloper. Engineered on a rugged ladder-frame chassis with a solid rear axle, the Terracan featured low-range transfer cases via Part-Time (EST) or Active Torque Transfer (ATT) full-time AWD systems.
Engine technology featured a 3.5-liter Sigma V6 petrol engine (200 hp), a 2.5-liter turbodiesel, and a 2.9-liter J3 CRDi turbodiesel (150-163 hp). Gearbox choices included a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. A 2004 facelift updated the front honeycomb grille, bumper fog lamps, and clear taillights.
