GMC Safari II (M-body) gallery (1995–2005)

The second-generation GMC Safari arrived in 1995, delivering a comprehensive redesign that extended through the end of the vehicle's production run in 2005. The update introduced an extended front nose with modern aerodynamic styling, larger integrated composite headlamps, and new bumpers that aligned its styling with GMC full-size truck lines. The interior was completely revamped with a redesigned dashboard, dual front airbags, enhanced sound insulation, and modern seating configurations for up to eight passengers. Power was supplied by an updated 4.3-liter Vortec 4300 V6 producing 190 to 200 horsepower, paired exclusively with an electronically controlled four-speed 4L60-E automatic transmission. Both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations remained available. In 2003, the chassis was further upgraded with four-wheel disc brakes and 16-inch wheels. It was sold in passenger and cargo forms across the United States and Canada.
