Genesis G70 I (IK) gallery (2017–present)

The first-generation Genesis G70 (internal code IK) marked the luxury marque's official entry into the compact executive sports sedan segment. Built on a rigid rear-wheel-drive architecture shared with the Kia Stinger, the model features a balanced weight distribution and a sport-tuned chassis with mechanical limited-slip differentials and optional adaptive suspension dampers. In addition to the four-door sedan, a five-door Shooting Brake estate was introduced for European and select global markets.

The initial powertrain family comprised 2.0-liter turbo and 2.5-liter turbo inline-four gasoline engines, a 2.2-liter CRDi turbo-diesel, and a performance-oriented 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged Lambda II V6 producing 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, offered in rear-wheel drive or HTRAC all-wheel drive configurations. The cockpit boasts genuine materials, an intuitive infotainment screen, quilted leather upholstery, and a comprehensive suite of active driver assistance systems.
