Ford Taurus VI (D3) gallery (2010–2019)
The sixth generation of the North American Ford Taurus (2010–2019) introduced aggressive flagship styling, a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 SHO edition, and a dedicated Police Interceptor variant.
Launched for the 2010 model year, the sixth-generation North American Ford Taurus was completely redesigned on an updated iteration of the full-size D3 platform. Sporting a sculpted, muscular silhouette with a high beltline and prominent shoulder lines, it served as Ford's flagship passenger car. A specialized pursuit version, the Police Interceptor Sedan, was introduced in 2012 to replace the Crown Victoria, featuring heavy-duty suspension and cooling systems.
Powertrain choices included a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter Duratec V6, a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged inline-four, and a high-performance 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 generating 365 horsepower in the Taurus SHO. A 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission was standard, with front-wheel drive or intelligent all-wheel drive. A mid-cycle refresh for 2013 added a hexagonal grille, electric power steering, and active safety technologies. Production at the Chicago plant ended in March 2019.
