The California T brought turbocharging to the line of front-engine V8 models. A new 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine provided a significant increase in torque and efficiency while reducing displacement. The update also affected the exterior, which became more aggressive and sporty, and the suspension, which improved steering precision. The California T was an important step in Ferrari's transition to turbocharged powertrains, while maintaining its status as a daily grand tourer.
