The third generation Changan Star 5 commercial series launched in 2012 and remains in active production. The underlying chassis features reinforced frame rails and a heavy-duty leaf-sprung rear axle designed for high load capacity. The lineup includes 5-door passenger microvans, cargo panel vans, and larger Star 9 pickup variants. Power options encompass 1.0-liter, 1.2-liter, and 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engines developing between 69 and 116 horsepower, matched with a 5-speed manual transmission. Interior equipment includes electric power steering, anti-lock braking ABS, manual air conditioning, and a basic audio unit.
